  • Webster University & The College School

Heather's residency in St. Louis was an exhilerating week filled with activities. As 2017 Guest Alumni Choreographer for Webster University's Dance Department, she set a new work on the Webster University Dance Ensemble for their spring concert. In addition, she taught a masterclass, held a lecture and workshops, including a Keyhole workshop in conjunction with the Biology Department and open to the whole community. She also visited The College School, an experiential K-8 school, offering a Keyhole workshop to 3rd grade students there, which was terrific. As an alumna of both schools, it was great to be back!

  • One Year Lease Summer Program in Greece

This summer Heather taught for One Year Lease Theater Company's Summer Program in Greece. The international college-aged students came from various acting backgrounds. As their primary teacher for the first week of a 4-week intensive, Heather worked on ensemble building & collaboration, kinesthetic awareness, understanding compositional elements, site-specific work, and using myths & monsters to generate physicality. Ultimately they will be performing an original play, in Greek. In addition to rehearsals, the program includes Greek lessons, movement & yoga, various workshops in playwrighting, clowning, chorus work, and more. The students came together as 13 strangers, with 12 company members & associates to guide them, and the growth they showed was impressive.
